Townhouse Kitchen
The brief for this project was to take the dark open kitchen, dining area and entrance and make it more functional and modern. It was a small space with many different functions happening and with a high traffic flow. The clients were debating between a full renovation with new kitchen cabinetry or just updating what they had since they family hoped to sell within the next few years. After discussing the budget and needs with the client I presented two options. The clients went with the more budget conscious proposal of updating their existing kitchen cabinets instead of replacing everything.
We replaced and relocated most of the light fixtures, replaced the flooring and painted the entire space. The cabinets were professionally sprayed in a light grey and a striking new laminate countertop was installed. We created a feature wall of arts and crafts style paneling in dark blue and built-in custom banquette seating in the dining area. It creates a cozy nook that makes the area feel special and inviting. The light blue walls carry through out the space and extend throughout the entire stairwell of the split level home, as well as into the lower living room. After the transformation was complete the tired cramped space feels much more open and welcoming, inviting you into the home.
