Condo Kitchen Update

Stove Side

This kitchen had seen better days, and was in dire need of a face lift. The owner was ideally looking to keep the renovation within a modest budget but wanted maximum impact. I discussed the needs with the client and we came up with a great plan to move forward. The cabinetry was in good shape but was very dated and the old flourescent ceiling fixture was broken and a large eyesore. Keeping the budget undercontrol was a main focus; we decided that the countertop, backsplash and flooring were still in good enough shape and that they could be updated at a later point when money allowed.

I prepared a selection of materials and chages outlined with a new lighting plan, and a render of what the final look would be for the client to approval. I suggested modifications to the cabinet interiors to make the space more usable as the client aged, including converting lower cabinets to drawers and a fully extendable blind corner unit instead of fixed shelves. With updates to the faucet, lighting and new custom cabinet door fronts and hardware the kitchen went from being dated to current with a beautiful transitional style. The biggest impact to the space was the new lighting, potlights above the countertops provide great task lighting. The signature feature of the ceiling tray with LED cove lighting and finished in beautiful oak hardwood adds an element of warmth to the white kitchen and plays well with the green tile and countertop we kept.
