Sometimes you only have a weekend and want to make an impactful change to your home. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is with a fresh coat of paint. You can paint a room, a piece of furniture, or in my case a garage and front door.
Earth Day is a great time to think about how our home interiors and exteriors can impact the environment. It isn’t just about adding a few green plants to our indoor space (but that is a great start), but also thinking about how the changes we make can make changes for the good of our planet. The decision to hire an interior design professional can be intimating the first time. You may not know what to expect or what you are needing. You may be expecting all designers to be compulsive shoppers wanting to spend all your money, or that the transformations can happen in a single day or week. While what we see on the television makes for exciting entertainment, it’s not what you should be expecting.
We all have our specialties so it is important to have a good conversation with a few different interior design professionals. The conversation should be about what you are looking for and what we can do for you. Our services can range from a single meeting to give advice, to complete design/build/management services. We have the ability to wear many different hats to fulfill your requirements and project needs while always keeping you, our clients, top of mind.
Here are some of the reasons to add the expertise of an interior design professional to your next project, no matter the size or scope.

Today I'm looking back at my final school project, for my final course during my college program. This project was about applying everything we had learned and using our skills to create a beautiful and function home. Our assignment was to create a complete design plan for a two bedroom home with only minor construction to accommodate a person living with a disability. Every design project starts the same way, understanding your client and their wants and needs. We could choose anyone and, in this case, our only stipulation was they had to have some sort of disability. Once I passed that hurtle, I really enjoyed working on this project because I could really dive into the details of the design based on the client’s specific requirements.
